Boca Raton, Florida is a small to medium-size city in the south part of Palm Beach County, Florida. The city has a population of about 75,000. However, if the incorporated area of the Boca Raton is added, the population swells to 200,000. The Atlantic Ocean comprises the city's eastern boundary and the intracoastal divides the Eastern and Western parts of the city.

Boca Raton became a city in 1925. The literal translation of "Boca Raton" is "Mouse Mouth" (the "mouse " in Spanish is "raton" ) . The Spanish word boca meaning mouth is also used to describe inlet.
