Delray Beach, Florida is a small to medium-size city in the south part of Palm Beach County. The city has a population of about 65,000 and runs the Atlantic Ocean and is on either side of the intracoastal. Delray Beach was incorporated in 1911 and has become a retail, cultural and residential hub. The tri-rail connects Delray Beach to West Palm Beach and a free shuttle connects the tri-rail station to downtown Delray Beach.

As of 2000, speakers of English as a first language accounted for 75.44% of all residents, while French Creole accounted for 11.73%. In recent years Delray Beach has taken great pride in the renovation of its downtown area with great emphasis on cultural and sports facilities and points of interest. In 2009 the city expanded the downtown Delray Beach Arts District that featured Galleries, and cultural organizations in South Florida. This scene has existed in Delray along Atlantic Avenue and connecting sidestreets for more than 20 years. The Delray Beach Affair, an annual event, is one of the longest running arts and crafts festivals in South Florida.
